Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Council

The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Council met March 7, 2013, at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison Branch with 10 members present.

Council president Lisa Kramer opened the meeting. Carolyn Sutter presented information on cooking food on the stove versus the microwave. Dorothy Canada gave the secretary's report and it was approved. Ruth Kramer gave the treasurer's report and it was accepted.

The quilt committee gave a progress report on the quilt for the quilt show. They are selling tickets to raise money for three Jefferson County scholarships. The annual Bits and Pieces Quilt Show will be April 13-14 at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Quilts may be entered April 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. The district meeting was set for March 11 at Versailles Baptist Church. The lesson plan "ABCs of Couponing" were distributed to club presidents to be shared with members.
