Sunshine Homemakers

The Sunshine Homemakers met March 12 at Hanover Baptist Church. President Dorothy Morgan opened the meeting with the Extension Homemakers Club Creed and the Pledge of Allegiance. Members sang the song of the month, "Let Their Be Peace On Earth." Devotions came from Corinthians 9:14. Alma Spillman gave the secretary's report. Members answered the roll call with their plans to attend or enter a quilt in the quilt show. The Bits and Pieces Quilt Show will be April 13-14 at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Quilts can be entered from 3 to 6 p.m. April 12. The quote of the month was, "A smile is a light in the window of the soul indicating that the heart is home." The thought for the month came from Aesop, "Please all, and you will please none." The club's next meeting will be at 2 p.m. April 9 at the church.



Smyrna Homemakers

The Smyrna Homemakers met March 20 at Janet McMahan's home with seven members present. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by members answering the roll call with their plans to participate in the quilt show. The Bits and Pieces Quilt Show will be April 13-14 at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Quilts can be entered from 3 to 6 p.m. April 12. The club is selling chances for a quilt that will be raffled during the show. Kay Dunham shared her 50th anniversary cake. The club's next meeting will be at 2 p.m. April 17 at Hopewell Baptist Church. Ruby Rowlett will be the hostess.
