Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Council

The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Council met Feb. 7 at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison Branch with seven members present. Council president Lisa Kramer called the meeting to order. Dorothy Canada gave the secretary's report and Ruth Kramer gave the treasurer's report. Lisa Kramer reported on the council's gift to the first baby born in the new year in Jefferson County. Janet McMahan reported that the quilt had been completed and that clubs would be selling raffle tickets to raise funds for the three Jefferson County scholarships. In March the quilt committee will meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month to work on projects at the Hanover Baptist Church. Carolyn Stutler announced that yearbooks must be ordered by March 26, the cost is set at $15. The district meeting will be March 11 at Versailles Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend should register by March 1, the fee is $10 for the event. The quilt show is set for April 13-14 at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds.
