Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Council
The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Council met June 27 at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison Branch with eight members present. Vice president Kay Dunham opened the meeting. The secretary's report was given by Dorothy Canada. Janet McMahan announced that the 2014 quilt had been put in the frame. The quilt committee meets at 9:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month at Hanover Baptist Church. Anyone who would like to help is welcome. The Achievement Day theme was set as "Backyard Friends" with the an assorted color scheme. The homemakers prepared for the Jefferson County 4-H Fair, scheduled for July 8-13 and made plans for the Open Class exhibit. The council's next meeting will be at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 8 at the library.
