The Sunshine Homemakers met May 7 at the residence of Alma Spillman. Club president Dorothy Morgan opened the meeting with the Extension Homemakers Club Creed, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the song of the month, "Back Home Again in Indiana." Devotions were given by Barbara Wykoff from the Mother's Bible on the value of a person. Members answered the roll call with their favorite season. Spillman noted that the quilt committee needed volunteers to be in charge of construction, publicity and the Bits and Pieces Quilt Show. Club members also need to work on program books for September to September. The fall district meeting will be held Aug. 12 in Jackson County. The quote of the month was from harry Truman, "A Pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties." The thought of the month was, "A little lie is like a little pregnancy it doesn't take long before everyone knows." The club's next meeting was set for 2 p.m. June 12.
