Clergy and parishioners from Courierarea churches came together for a final 2017 community Lenten service Wednesday at Hanover United Methodist Church. Every Wednesday for the past six weeks, area churches have opened their doors for lunchtime services to observe Lent, between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday. The Rev. Melissa Englehart of the Hanover United Methodist Church welcomed attendees before turning the service over to Salvation Army Lt. Vinal Lee, who offered a message of humility from the book of Mark. Attendees were invited to a family-style lunch following the short sermon.
