Wednesday, February 26, 2014 10:00 AM
The Grote Lamplighter Club, a non-profit at Grote Industries, raises money for a charity each year. During 2013 the organization raised $12,500 for the Lide White Memorial Boys and Girls Club. A check was presented Jan. 15 to club representatives Ray Black Jr. and Steve Mitchell. Pictured, from left to right: Tom DeWitt, Darla Lathrem, Karan Dua, Mitchell, Black, Mike Grote, Julie Williams, Sunshine Galliher, James Wilber and Carolyn Mitchell. The charity was selected by past president Julie Williams. The club plans on using the funds to support its "60 Year Face-Lift Project." During the last 35 years, the Grote Lamplighters have raised more than $140,000 for local charities, including The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, Pathways Youth and Family Services, Jefferson County Hospice and the Jack Daniel Ison Jr. Scholarship Fund.
