Jefferson County Public Library offers math focused GED class

Beginning Monday, Oct. 22 Martha Rigby, Ivy Tech faculty member and literacy tutor, will offer a weekly class from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. focused entirely on the math portion of the GED test. Students studying for the GED who are struggling to understand the topics below are welcome to attend.
The program and materials are free, but space is limited. Participants must register.
Topics covered will include multiplication and division, multiple digit; fractions, equivalent fractions, fractional representation of quantities, converting fractions to decimals and percents, addition and subtraction of fractions; fractions, mixed numbers and improper fractions, converting between the two, converting to percent and decimals, adding and subtracting; fractions, multiplying and dividing fractions both proper and improper, and mixed numbers; decimals, adding,subtracting,multiplying,dividing; percents, percent of increase or decrease ratios; order of operations; and algebra, solving for X in addition, subtraction, multiplication or division problems.
