Half of the eighth-grade class from Madison Junior High School visited Ivy Tech Community College’s Madison campus to get a look at what post-secondary education might look like. This is the first time MJHS students have taken a field trip to the campus. The other half of the class is scheduled to visit today. Above, staff from the Bedford, Ky.-based AirMethods show students the inside of their medical helicopter. Also on hand were firefighters and emergency medical personnel. MJHS counselor Betsy Sullivan said the goal is to get the students to consider their career pathways for high school and participate in certification or dual-credit courses offered through the partnership between Madison Consolidated Schools and the college.
