Food Drive: The Salvation Army will hold a food drive May 1-May 31. All canned and non-perishable food items will be accepted at the Madison Township Fire Department and at River Valley Financial Bank. For more information call (812) 265-2157.
Open Swim: The pool at the Madison Consolidated Junior High School will be open for a community swim on Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $1 per person, and elementary-aged children and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Farmer's Market: Will run from April 1 through Oct. 31 on Broadway between Main and Third streets. The market is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Jefferson County House of Hope: Will provide free food and supplies to residents of Jefferson County who are in need. A household may visit once every 30 days. Guests will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays. The clearinghouse is located at 100 E. Second St. The entrance is located off First St., at the rear of the building.
Celebrate Recovery: A 12-step, Christ-centered, recovery program for hurts, habits and hang-ups, from addictions to depression, will meet at 4 p.m. Sundays at Faith Covenant Church, 217 E. Jefferson County Board of Tourism: Will meet on the fourth Monday of the month at 9 a.m. at the Madison Visitors Center.

VisitMadison Inc. Board of Directors: Will meet on the fourth Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Madison Visitors Center.
Chamber After Hours: Will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Little Golden Fox with light refreshments and door prizes.
Jefferson County Board of Health: Will meet at 6 p.m. in the board room of the Jefferson County Health Department, 715 Green Road.
Carrollton City Council: Will meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in council chambers at Carrollton City Hall.
Lexington Historical Society: Will meet at 7 p.m. in the Lexington Christian Church fellowship room. A Hanover College professor will speak about climate's affect on tree rings and other related topics. The location is wheelchair accessible.
Bean Soup Supper: The Hanover Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge 652 will host a bean soup supper from 4 to 8 p.m. at the lodge, 239 W. Main St., Hanover. The event is open to the public. Freewill donations will be accepted.
Jefferson County Prevent Child Abuse Award Ceremony: Will be held at 6:30 p.m. at North United Methodist Church to recognize winners of the annual Prevent Child Abuse poster contest. The public is welcome.
CAFFE: Carrollton Area Families for Education will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at the Carroll County Public Library.

"He Said, She Said" Author Road Show: Random House writing couple Wendelin Van Draanen and Mark Huntly Parsons will bring their national road trip tour to Village Lights Bookstore from 4 to 6 p.m. The couple will discuss their books, the writing process and how they've managed to share the same office for 20 years.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Charlie Humphrey. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.
No More Cutting: A support group for girls from junior high to college who struggle with depression, fear, anxiety and suicidal thoughts will meet every Friday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1429 Clifty Drive, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The group is spiritually-based and non-denominational.
