Poetpalooza 2013 - A Tri-State Poetry Summit: Village Lights Bookstore will host Poetpalooza 2013 April 5-6, with hourly readings and signings by poets from the tri-state area. Live music will be performed Friday from The Chestnuts and Saturday from Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett-Ziesemer.

10-Minute Plays: The Hanover College Theatre Department will host the annual presentations of new 10-minute plays written and presented by students. Court Street Cinemas: Will show "Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2" at 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. Popcorn and soft drinks will be available.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Charlie Humphrey. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.

Hats Off to Spring: Vevay's First Friday will include a competition to determine the most stylish headgear in the following categories: Vintage, men's, children's, creative, historical and Swiss-inspired. Participants are asked to stop by the Historic Hoosier Theater between 6 and 7:30 p.m. April 5. The event will also include sidewalk entertainment from Scott Center and Friends on Ferry Street. The Black Lillies: Will perform April 5 at The Livery Stable. Doors open at 7 p.m. The concert serves at the kickoff event for the 2013 RiverRoots Festival. Seussical Jr.: The Madison Consolidated High School Theatre Department will present "Seussical Jr." at 7 p.m. The simple 70-minute musical is appropriate for the entire family.

A Garden Affair: The Lanier Mansion State Historic Site will host the annual "A Garden Affair" event featuring "The Hoosier Gardener" Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp on container gardening. A gardening vendors display will be open from 11 a.m. to noon followed by lunch at noon and the presentation at 1 p.m. Tickets, which include lunch, are $25 per person.
