Jammin in the Hills: The fourth annual Jammin In the Hills will feature more than 20 performers Aug. 16-18 at 21354 Upper Goose Creek Road in Patriot. In addition to music, the event will offer local food, disc golf and camping. Tickets for the three-day event are $30 for adults and are available only at the gate. Parking is $8. Ribberfest: The annual two-day festival of barbeque and blues will be held Aug. 16 and Aug. 17 at Bicentennial Park in downtown Madison. Swiss Wine Festival: The 42nd annual event will be held at Paul Ogle Riverfront Park in Vevay Aug. 22-Aug. 25 with wine tasting, a grape stomp, arts and crafts, amusement rides, a parade, riverboat cruises, 5K walk/run, cheerleading competition, live entertainment and more. Orchard Support Group: A support group for pregnant mothers, new mothers and mothers of older children who are battling addiction will meet from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursdays at the King's Daughters' Hospital.
Senior Citizens: The Madison Senior Center, 208 W. Main St., hosts activities during the week including euchre at noon on Monday and Thursday, and bingo at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Jefferson County Republican Women: Will meet at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of the month at Franco's, with a speaker from the Madison Police Department discussing personal safety. Plans will also be made for the upcoming ice cream social. All Republican women are welcome.

Veterans Benefits Representative: A veterans benefits field representative from the Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs will be at the Veterans Affairs Health Clinic in Carrollton, Ky. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The representative will be available to assist veterans and widows/widowers for free in filing for federal and state benefits for veterans and dependents. NARFE: The National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1677 will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse, 327 Clifty Drive. Poker Run: The fourth annual fundraiser Christmas in August Poker Run will be held with registration from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. The race begins and ends at the Sunset Grill in Warsaw, Ky. Registration is $15 per bike, $5 per rider, $5 extra hand. Food will be provided after the ride. The event also includes door prizes, raffle items and a split the pot drawing.
