Author Signings: That Book Place, 337 Clifty Drive, will hold several author signings during their annual Labor Day Sale Aug. 30 and Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Neavill's Grove Old Settler's Meeting: The 128th annual event will be held Aug. 30-Sept. 1. Friday will include a spaghetti dinner at 5 p.m. with entertainment from Erik Brunner and a fiddle contest at 7 p.m. Saturday's schedule begins at 11 a.m. with an official opening ceremony, antique tractor and garden tractor display, food, contests and children's games along with music at 7 p.m. from the Marlinaires. Sunday will start with a public worship service at 10 a.m., chicken dinner at 11:30 a.m. and a concert from The Woodsman Quartet at 1 p.m.

Yoga and Hiking: Start the say with free yoga and hiking at 8:30 a.m. each Tuesday during June, July and August. Meet at the bottom of the Heritage Trail on Vaughn Drive. Orchard Support Group: A support group for pregnant mothers, new mothers and mothers of older children who are battling addiction will meet from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursdays at the King's Daughters' Hospital.
Senior Citizens: The Madison Senior Center, 208 W. Main St., hosts activities during the week including euchre at noon on Monday and Thursday, and bingo at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Fourth Monday Book Group: Will meet at noon at the Carroll County Public Library to discuss "The Red House" by Mark Haddon. Copies are available at the desk.
Historic District Board of Review: Will meet at 5:30 p.m. in Madison City Hall. The filing deadline for applications to be considered is Aug. 7.
Veterans Benefits Representative: A veterans benefits field representative from the Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs will be at the Veterans Affairs Health Clinic in Carrollton, Ky. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The representative will be available to assist veterans and widows/widowers for free in filing for federal and state benefits for veterans and dependents. Fourth Tuesday Storytime: Will be held at 11 a.m. at Village Lights Bookstore. Jill Kelly Koren will tailor the selections to the ages of the audience.

Work It Wednesday: The monthly business networking lunch will be held at noon at the chamber, 301 E. Lego Mania: Will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.
MCHS Senior Meeting: Madison Consolidated High School counselors will conduct a senior meeting for students and parents from 6 to 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. The informational meeting will cover: college applicatoins, scholarship information, financial aid, transcript requests, letters of recommendation, senior pictures, SAT/ACT scores, graduation and a question and answer session.

Shelley Shepard Gray: The best-selling author will visit the Trimble County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. for a signing. She will also discuss her books and how the Amish inspire her writing. Preschool Orientation: Faith Lutheran Church Preschool will hold an orientation session for all parents, children and staff at the church, 3401 Michigan Road, at 7 p.m. There are still some preschool openings available. Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.
Fish Fry: The Dupont-Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department will host a fish fry on the last Saturday of the month at the Dupont fire house from 4 to 8 p.m.
River Run XVII Car Show: Will be held rain or shine along the Madison riverfront with registration from 8 a.m. to noon.
Rockin' on the Riverfront: The fundraiser for the Salvation Army will be held in Bicentennial Park. The event will feature the Never Too Late Praise Band from North United Methodist Church and The Monarchs performing rock and roll classics. The event is free, but donations will be accepted for the Salvation Army.
Carrollton's Family Celebration: Will be held at Point Park. The concert will start at 8 p.m. followed by fireworks at dark.
Harvest Hoot: Madison Vineyards Estate Winery, 1456 E. 400-N will celebrate the completion of the grape harvest Sept. 1 with live music, hay wagon and production tours, a grape stomp and more from noon to 6 p.m. Music will be provided by Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett and Bomar and Ritter. Admission is free.
