Host of Angels and Annual Festival of Trees: Lanthier Winery will host their annual displays Nov. 29-Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Santa's Cottage: Will be open Dec. 6, Dec. 8, Dec. 13, Dec. 20 and Dec. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Broadway Fountain. Santa will also be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 and from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 22.

Festival of Lights: Thousands of holiday lights reflect into the water along the Ohio River at Paul Ogle Riverfront Park in Vevay from Nov. 30 to Dec. 31.

Festival of Trees: General Butler State Resort Park will host the annual Festival of Trees from Dec. 7 through Jan. 1, with the exception of Dec. 23-Dec. 26 when the lodge will close for the holiday.

Nouveau Noelle: The six wineries of the Indiana Wine Trail will host a wine tasting and holiday event Dec. 14-15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information visit www.indianawinetrail.com.

Food for Fines: The Carroll County Public Library will sponsor the annual holiday program. During November and December food donations will be accepted for fine amnesty. For more information call (502) 732-7020.

Hop for Socks: Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children will be collecting new socks for area children for Christmas. New socks can be donated through Dec. 13 at Voices for Children, 217 E. Main St.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Tommy Day and Cool Country. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.

December 14

Big Oaks Christmas Bird Count: Participants will meet at 8 a.m. at the Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge office. Lunch will be provided for volunteers. To participate or for more information call (812) 273-0783.

A Christmas Carroll: Will be held in downtown Carrollton and around the Carroll County Courthouse square. Entries for the Visions of Sugar Plums Bake-off will be accepted at McNeal's starting at 8 a.m. Judging will be at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at noon and run from Port William Lane to the square. Pictures with Santa will be available for a $5 donation to the local Shop with a Cop from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. Vendors will also be at the library from 1 to 3 p.m.

Murdered to Death Auditions: The Madison Community Players will host auditions for the February production of "Murdered to Death." from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. For more information call (812) 701-3028.

Nutcracker Tea: Join the Carroll County Public Library for its annual Nutcracker Tea at 11 a.m. Dress in Christmas finery and have a photo taken with a surprise guest. All ages are welcome. To sign up call (502) 732-7020.

Wreaths Across America: Will place more than 800 wreaths at grave sites at noon at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The public is encouraged to help with the placement of the wreaths. For more information call (812) 273-9220.

A Child's Christmas in Wales: Village Lights Bookstore will host Indiana University Southeast professor and poet Jack Ramey reading the Dylan Thomas classic, "A Child's Christmas in Wales," at 1 p.m. Dec. 14. Warm cider and cookies will be available for the children.

Teen Game Day: Will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

Sugarplum Celebration: Lanthier Winery will host holiday dancing and sweet samples from noon to 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of December. Admission is free. Families are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Spirit of Christmas Past: The Lanier Mansion will present the holiday program for kids Dec. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. This year's activities are free to the public.

Behind the Scenes Tour: Take a behind the scenes tour of the Lanier Mansion on the second Saturday of the month at 4 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors over 60 and $5 for children. The tours, which are limited to 15 people, include the basement, cupola, East wing and information not included on the standard tour. Reservations are required. Santa Claus: Santa and Mrs. Claus is coming to the Pope John XXIII Elementary School cafeteria from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Parents are welcome to bring their cameras, pictures are free to take with Santa. Refreshments will be provided.

QPR Suicide Prevention Training: Pathways Youth Shelter and Family Services will host suicide prevention training with Troy Hedges at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required by Dec. 9.
