The World Comes to Madison: The Seifert-Short Museum and Learning Center, 113 E. Third St., will display nativities and crèches from around the world during the holiday season. The museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in December and January. Free admission.

Computer Help: The Carroll County Public Library offers walk-in computer help and tutoring Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Call (502) 732-7020 and ask for Sheila or email sheila@carrollcountylibrary.org to set up an appointment.

Senior Dance: Will host Sidekicks with Silas, also known as the Canyon River Band, from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at the Lide White Boys and Girls Club. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The New Years Eve party will include furnished party favors and pitch-in food and snacks. The event does not include alcohol or smoking. Admission is $15. Numb Thumbs Fly In: The Madison Broken Wings Radio Control Model Airplane Club will hold the annual "Numb Thumbs Fly-In" at 1 p.m. at the flying field at Jefferson Proving Ground. Pilots will attempt to fly regardless of the weather. All are welcome. For more information call (812) 273-5891.

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Class: The Jefferson County Chapter of the American Red Cross will host a first aid and CPR training from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, 301 E. KDH Retirees: Retired employees of King's Daughters' Hospital will meet at 11:30 a.m. at The Pines.

January 4

Red Hatters: The Red Hatters of Madison will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. at the Cracker Barrel in Scottsburg. A car pool will leave the Madison Big Lots at 10:15 a.m. In case of bad weather, the meeting will be held at The Pines. All Red Hatters and guests are welcome. Snowflakes for Sandy Hook: The Carroll County Public Library will host a craft time from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the library to make snowflakes to help transform a school building into a winter wonderland for returning Sandy Hook students in Connecticut. Individuals are welcome to come and craft snowflakes at the library or drop off their own to be mailed with the library's snowflakes. For more information call (502) 732-7020.

Mardi Gras First Friday: Mardi Gras was celebrated by Vevay citizens not according to the religious calendar but at the start of the New Year. Participants are encouraged to visit area businesses in the historic business district, where tickets for a prize drawing will be given to those wearing masks and/or costumes.
