Beginning Japanese: Learn basic Japanese phrases, cultural differences and etiquette, and how the Japanese alphabets and symbols work. Amelia Payne will host the six-week program Mondays at 6:30 p.m. from Feb. 24 to March 31 at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch. Mama Won't Fly Auditions: The Madison Community Players will hold auditions for the upcoming production of "Mama Won't Fly" at the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, 301 E. Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Gary Hewitt and the Honky Tonk Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.
No More Cutting: A support group for girls from junior high to college who struggle with depression, fear, anxiety and suicidal thoughts will meet every Friday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1429 Clifty Drive, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The group is spiritually-based and non-denominational. Swiss Idol Auditions: Will be held Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Historic Hoosier Theater in Vevay. Participants do not have to be a resident of Switzerland County. Third House Legislative Breakfast: Will be held at 9 a.m. at Ivy Tech Community College in the business conference center.
Bluebird Nest Box Workshop: Clifty Falls State Park will host a bluebird nesting box workshop suitable for families starting at 10:30 a.m. Participants will assemble a bluebird nesting box and learn information essential to attracting bluebirds. Kits are limited to one per family. The program costs $2 per person for ages 5 and older and $10 per kit. Participants can pay by cash or check. Participants will also need a #2 medium phillips-head screwdriver. Children age 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited and advanced registration is required. Souper Saturday: The Indiana Wine Trail, which includes Ertel Cellars Winery in Batesville, Lanthier Winery, Madison Vineyards, The Ridge Winery in Vevay, Stream Cliff Farm Winery in Commiskey and Thomas Family Winery, will feature their best wines paired with soups from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Take Your Child to the Library Day: Celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day with a presentation from Animal Tales at 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. Live animals and fun facts are presented by zoo educators and naturalists. Each child will also receive a free gift.
Bridal Show: The Livery Stable will host a bridal show from 2 to 4 p.m. with fashion shows at 2 and 3 p.m. Admission is free. Booths representing numerous local businesses will be in attendance.
An Afternoon Celebrating Black History: A reception will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Art on Main for an exhibit of original art expressing images of African American history and culture. Then enjoy a taste of soul foods from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the African Methodist Episcopal Church, 309 E. Fifth St. along with a screening of "Slavery by Another Name," a 90-minute documentary that challenges the belief that slavery in America ended with the Emancipation Proclamation.

Tobacco Production Update and Trainings: Dr. Robert Pearce, University of Kentucky tobacco specialist, will give an update on tobacco production and provide training on good agricultural production practices for tobacco. Lexington Historical Society: Will meet at 7 p.m. at the Lexington Christian Church. The program was rescheduled from January. Membership due of $10 may be paid at the meeting. The speaker will be Jennifer Beckman, a bee keeper near Lexington. A dessert will be served. The location is wheelchair accessible.
