Jefferson County 4-H Fair: Will be held July 8-15 at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Poor Jack Amusements will be open daily from 6 to 11 p.m., with Kiddie Day Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m. The commercial buildings are open from 6 to 9:30 p.m. daily. Admission is $2 per car or walk-in.

Computer Help: The Carroll County Public Library offers walk-in computer help and tutoring Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Call (502) 732-7020 and ask for Sheila or email sheila@carrollcountylibrary.org to set up an appointment.

Walking: The Brown Gym will be open for walking from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information call (812) 265-8308.

Zumba: Will be offered at 5:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Carroll County Public Library.

Yoga and Hiking: Start the say with free yoga and hiking at 8:30 a.m. each Tuesday during June, July and August. Meet at the bottom of the Heritage Trail on Vaughn Drive. Walk Away the Pounds: Daily at 9 a.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

Al-Anon Family Group: Will meet at 7 p.m. Fridays at Madison Presbyterian Church, 202 Broadway. For more information call (812) 493-3848.

Orchard Support Group: A support group for pregnant mothers, new mothers and mothers of older children who are battling addiction will meet from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursdays at the King's Daughters' Hospital.

Senior Citizens: The Madison Senior Center, 208 W. Main St., hosts activities during the week including euchre at noon on Monday and Thursday, and bingo at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The center also has a pool table, Wii, and dominoes. Lunch is available each day, but those interested must sign-up the day prior. For more information call (812) 265-4758.

July 8

Rabbit Show: Will begin at 10 a.m. at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Family Film Series: The Ohio Theatre will offer free showings of "Here Comes the Boom" at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Madison Port Authority: Will meet at noon at the Madison Railroad Office, 1121 W. J.P.G. Woodfill Road, Building 216. For more information visit www.madisonrailroad.com.

Goat Show: Will begin at 5 p.m. at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Court Street Cinemas: Will show "Identity Thief" at 6 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. The film is rated R.

Jefferson County Republican Women: Will not meet at 6 p.m. They will gather at the Republican Party booth at the Jefferson County 4-H Fair.

Horse Pull: Will begin at 7 p.m. in the grandstand at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Admission is $5 for adults, free for children age 10 and younger.

July 9

Horse Show: Western will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Veterans Benefits Representative: A veterans benefits field representative from the Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs will be at the Veterans Affairs Health Clinic in Carrollton, Ky. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The representative will be available to assist veterans and widows/widowers for free in filing for federal and state benefits for veterans and dependents. Cat Show: Will begin at 2 p.m. at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Sheep Show: Will begin at 5 p.m. at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Carroll County Animal Support: Will meet from 6 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

Tots and Tykes Contest: Will begin at 7 p.m. in the Community Building at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Applications are available at the Fair Office or at the contest. Registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. each night. A $3 entry fee is required. Wednesday will feature girls and boys, 9 months 1 day to 14 months; 7 months 1 day to 9 months; 4 months 1 day to 7 months; twins or triplets, birth to 4 years.

Truck Drag: Will begin at 7 p.m. in the grandstand at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 10 and free for children younger than 6.

July 11

Moving for Better Health: The free senior exercise class will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursdays at the Lide White Boys and Girls Club/Family and Community Center. For more information call (812) 273-1072.

July 12

Computer Basics for Seniors: The Carroll County Public Library will offer computer basics for seniors from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Seniors are welcome to bring their own laptop or use one owned by the library.

Livestock Auction: Will begin at 1 p.m. at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of the Tommy Day. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.

Freethinkers, Coffee and Conversation: Will meet in the Atrium Room of the Village Lights Bookstore at 6 p.m.

Meet the Author - Lisa Trimble Actor: Will speak and sign copies of her book "Rebel Raiders" from 6 to 8 p.m. at Village Lights Bookstore.

Music in the Park: Will feature the Jimmy Davis Band, opened by Dave Dwyer starting at 6:30 p.m. at The Broadway Fountain. New this year will be hot food available starting at 6 p.m. with Jug Heads Grub Company and Frazer Dogs.

Tractor Pull: Will begin at 7 p.m. in the grandstand at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Admission is $10 and free for children younger than 6.
