Angel Tree Yard Sale: The fundraiser yard sale will be held, rain or shine, on East Main St. in Vevay June 13-14 starting at 8 a.m. each day. Proceeds will go toward the non-profit Angel Tree, which helps underprivileged children in Switzerland County during the holiday season.

June 9

Court Street Cinemas: Will screen "Monuments Men" at 6 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. The film is rated R.

Carrollton City Council: Will meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in council chambers at Carrollton City Hall.

June 10

Heritage Trail Challenge Yoga/Hiking: Will be held at 8:15 a.m. Meet at the trailhead at Vernon St. and Vaughn Drive to sign-in. Bring a beach towel or yoga mat to participate in the brief, optional yoga class at the bottom of the hill. All other yoga portions of the event will not require a mat. All abilities, ages, parents with strollers, and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. In case of inclement weather the event will be canceled.

Jefferson County Clearinghouse Planning Meeting: Will meet at 8 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at 215 E. Main St., Suite 1.

Carroll County Fiscal Court: Will meet at 9 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the Fiscal Court on the second floor of the Carroll County Courthouse.

Summer Reading Kickoff Party: The Jefferson County Public Library will kick off the "Fizz, Boom, Read!" summer reading program from 10 a.m. to noon at the Madison branch and from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Hanover branch. Carroll County Chamber Membership: Will meet at noon at the General Butler State Resort Park Lodge. The guest speaker will be Rob Blair from the Kentucky Speedway.

NARFE: Chapter 1677 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steak House. All federal retirees, active employees, postal employees and guests are welcome.

Kentucky Dulcimer Gatherin': Will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Trimble County Public Library.

The Active Living Workshop: The public is invited to give input on creating a community built for all ages and abilities and to begin planning and designing environments that will allow and encourage residents to be active. NAMI Family Support Group: Will meet from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at Faith Lutheran Church to support family members of those who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. Madison Community Band: Will present a free rock 'n roll concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Broadway Fountain. The band's first concert of the season will include such music as "Born to be Wild," "Louie Louie," Jersey Boys," and "Grease."

June 11

CAFFE: Carrollton Area Families for Education will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at the Carroll County Public Library.

Jake Book: The Carroll County Public Library will host an old-time sing-along event at 1 p.m. June 11 with Jake Book, who plays both the banjo and guitar. The program is appropriate for all ages.

Madison Kiwanis Chicken Barbeque: Will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Crystal Beach Shelter House. The meal includes half of a chicken, cole slaw, baked beans, roll and lemonade or tea. Cradle of Hoosier Heritage: The Lanier Mansion will host a free talk by Wayne Sanford, author of "Cradle of Hoosier Heritage - Anecdotes of Madison People, Places & Events, From Territorial Times Through the American Civil War." Sanford will also sign copies of the book, which will be available for purchase following the talk. The event will begin at 7 p.m. June 11 at the Visitors Center, 601 W. Lunch and Learn - Conversational Spanish: The Jefferson Community Technical College Carrollton Campus will host a workshop from noon to 1 p.m. on conversational Spanish.
