Madison in Bloom: The spring garden tour will be held May 18-19. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $12. Children under the age of 12 receive free admission. For more information call (800) 559-2956 or (812) 265-2335.
RiverRoots Music and Folk Arts Festival: Will be held May 17-18 at Bicentennial Park in downtown Madison. Music starts at 6 p.m. Friday and at 1 p.m. Saturday. Wristbands are $25 for both days, and are available at many local businesses, online at www.riverroots.org and by calling 1-800-559-2956.
Friends of the Library Book Sale: Will be held May 17-19 in the Jefferson County Public Library Madison Branch auditorium, 420 W. Main St. The sale will be open Friday from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Veterans Benefits Representative: A veterans benefits field representative from the Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs will be at the Veterans Affairs Health Clinic in Carrollton, Ky. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The representative will be available to assist veterans and widows/widowers for free in filing for federal and state benefits for veterans and dependents. NARFE: Chapter 1677 of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steak House. All federal retirees, active federal empoyees, postal employees and their guests are welcome.
Indiana, That's Where I Belong: Grades 4-6 of the Canaan Community Academy will perform "Indiana, That's Where I Belong," at 7 p.m. at the school.
Community Calf Project Dedication Ceremony: Southwestern High School will host a dedication ceremony for the new community calf project at 3:30 p.m. at the school.

Meet the Author - Lisa Trimble Actor: Lisa Trimble Actor, a former resident of southern Indiana, will discuss "Rebel Raiders," her tale of the Civil War, based on events experienced by the author's ancestor, from 7 to 9 p.m. with a meet and greet, talk and book signing at Village Lights Bookstore.
Kelly Miller Circus: Will host performances at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. May 17 at the Madison Consolidated High School. Tickets are available at Chandler Chevrolet, River Valley Financial Bank, MainSource Bank and Farmers Bank of Milton.
Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of the Gary Hewitt and the Honky Tonk Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.

Kids Care Too Relay for Life Cookout: The Kids Care Too Southwestern Middle School Relay for Life Team will host a cookout fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pate's Pantry in Hanover with hamburgers, hot dogs and homemade treats. Proceeds will go to the Jefferson County Relay for Life.
Meet the Author - Marianne Wallace: Village Lights Bookstore will host a meet and greet, book launch and book signing with writer and illustrator Marianne D. Wallace, for her book, "River Life: A Journey from Headwaters to the Sea." The event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m.
Meet the Authors - Bob Ostrander and Derrick Morris: Village Lights Bookstore will host a meet and greet and book signing with Indiana beer enthusiasts Bob Ostrander and Derrick Morris on a pub crawl through the state's beer history from 1 to 3 p.m. in the beer tent at the RiverRoots Festival.

Bob Weatherford Benefit:Will be held at Madison Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1969 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a cornhole tournament, raffle, 50/50 draws and live music from Hired Gun. Dinner will be available for $8 a plate. Registration for the cornhole tournament is $20 per team.
Deputy Alumni Banquet and Dance: Will be held at Deputy Elementary School. The class reunion is for all former graduates and teachers of Deputy High School. Classes ending in a -3 or -8 will be honored this year. The meal will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the dance at 9 p.m. with DJ Charlie Daugherty. The dance is open to the public. Tickets are $5.
