Holiday Mail for Heroes: The American Red Cross will collect cards and personal messages for veterans, military families and active-duty service members at hospitals and installations around the world. Food for Fines: The Carroll County Public Library will sponsor the annual holiday program. During November and December food donations will be accepted for fine amnesty. For more information call (502) 732-7020.

A Collection of Short Plays: The Little Grand Theatre Company will present a collection of three plays, "Carla and the Greedy Merchant," by Robert Scotellaro; "The Fairy Godmother's Assistant," by Bruce Lansky; and "Dorothy Meets Alice or the Wizard of Oz," by Joseph Robinette. Local youth in grades three through eleven will perform at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 and at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and Nov. 10 at The Ohio Theatre. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Senior Citizens: The Madison Senior Center, 208 W. Main St., hosts activities during the week including euchre at noon on Monday and Thursday, and bingo at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Trick-Or-Treat: Will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Carrollton, Ky., Ghent, Ky. and Trimble County, Ky.

Big Oaks Conservation Society: Will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison Branch.

Genealogy Class: Will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

November 5

IKE Retirees: Retired employees of the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation will meet for breakfast at 8 a.m. at Clifty Falls State Park's Falls Restaurant in Clifty Inn. All retirees and guests are welcome.

B4K Club: Will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesdays at the Carroll County Public Library. The group was formerly known as Toddler Time.

Veterans Day Lunch and Program: Milton Elementary School will host a Veterans Day lunch and program from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.

Ulster Project Information Night: Teens ages 14-16 and parents are invited to attend an information night at 6:30 p.m. at the Eggleston Building, 419 East St. Learn more about the 2014 Ulster Project and the application process.

November 6

CAFFE: Carrollton Area Families for Education will meet at 1 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. During November they will make ornaments to decorate Christmas trees in the children's area of the library.

Fall Crafts for Kids: Will meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the Carroll County Public Library.

Veterans Program: The City of Madison will host a program in honor of veterans at 5:30 p.m. at the Brown Gym. The program will include Mayor Damon Welch, Dave Stucker, American Legion Riders, Jefferson County Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Hearts of Joy, Morgan Hensley and the senior citizen line dancer. The program will air on Nov. 11 on Madison Channel 15.

November 7

Moving for Better Health: The free senior exercise class will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursdays at the Lide White Boys and Girls Club/Family and Community Center. For more information call (812) 273-1072.

Adult First Aid/CPR/AED: The Jefferson County Chapter of the American Red Cross will sponsor a training course from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. The cost is $90. Blood Drive: The Jefferson County Chapter of the American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 1660 of Ivy Tech Community College, 590 Ivy Tech Drive. Southwestern Food Pantry: Will be open from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. the first Thursday of the month. The pantry is open to families of Southwestern Middle and High School students and offers food and daily living supplies. Diabetes Awareness: King's Daughters' Health Diabetes Care Center will host a free diabetes awareness event at 6 p.m. in the Oak Rooms of the KDH Conference Center. Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Tommy Day and Cool Country. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.
