When Jenny Lind Came to Town: A play about European soprano Jenny Lind's performance in Madison in 1851 will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 and at 3 p.m. Oct. 14. The independent production will be performed at Fitzgibbon Recital Hall in the Lynn Center for Fine Arts at Hanover College. Tri Kappa Tour of Homes: Will be held Oct. 12-14 with tours Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Tour private homes in historic Madison. Advance tickets are $12.50 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 10 and free for children under 5 years of age. Vevay Ghost Tours: The Historic Hoosier Theater and the Switzerland County Historical Society will host walking ghost tours Oct. 12, 13, 19, 20 and 26. Tours start at 7 p.m. rain or shine. Tour guides encourage those on the tour to bring their ghost hunting equipment, flashlights and cameras along and take advantage of the opportunity to gain access to these places. Rural Heritage Tour: Musee de Venoge and the Switzerland County Historical society will showcase two historic properties on a Rural Heritage Tour Oct. 13-14. Depression Support Group: A spiritually-based depression support group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1429 Clifty Drive. Fish Fry: Kent Volunteer Fire Department will host a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Gary Hewitt and the Honky Tonk Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $3 and includes snacks, drinks and door prizes.

Ghosts of Madison, Indiana Book Launch: Will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Village Lights Bookstore, 110 E. Main St. Member of author Virginia "Ginger" Dyer Jorgensen's family will be at the book launch to "signature-stamp" her books.

Kristen Hansen: The Madison Performing Arts Foundation will present Kristen Hansen at 7 p.m. at Madison Presbyterian Church, 202 Broadway. Georgia's French horn virtuoso will be accompanied on the piano.

Soup Stew Chili and Brew: Will be held Oct. 13 on Madison's Main Street. Individuals, businesses and organizations compete from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the annual event naming the best soups, stews, chilis and brews in the Madison area. Tasting is by donation.
