USS LST 325: The World War II LST Museum will be open for tours in Madison Sept. 12-Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call (812) 435-8678 or visit www.lstmemorial.org.
Canaan Fall Festival: The 49th annual event will be held Sept. 13-14 with the Pony Express Mail Run, Saturday parade at 10:30 a.m., flea market, live entertainment, pedal pull, cornhole tournament, vintage tractor display, and pie contest.
Business After Hours: Will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Madison Apothecary, 835 W. Main St., with door prizes, wine tasting and networking.
Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Gary Hewitt and the Honky Tonk Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.
Pancake Breakfast: The Madison Kiwanis Club will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Lide White Memorial Boys and Girls Club, 1551 M.S.H. Northgate Road. Tickets are $5 per person. Advance tickets can be purchased at the club, from Kiwanis members, or at the Clifty Drive branches of local banks.
Child Safety Seat Checks: The Carrollton Police Department will conduct a child passenger safety seat check from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A certified technician will inspect child safety seats and ensure proper installation.
Cornhole Tournament: Will be held at Hanover College, hosted by Kappa Alpha Theta from noon to 4 p.m. The entry fee is $10 per two-person team. Proceeds benefit the Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children. For more information call (317) 697-3779 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kidd Family Reunion: Will be held at noon at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share.
The Buzz About Bees: Learn about bees and planes from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lee Bottom Flying Field. The event will even offer honey ice cream. Admission is free. Those attending are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch. No food will be offered. For more information visit www.thingsthatbuzz.com.
INDAR Genealogy Workshop: The Daughters of the American Revolution will host a genealogy workshop on researching ancestry from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Switzerland County Public Library, 205 Ferry St., Vevay. Behind the Scenes Tour: Take a behind the scenes tour of the Lanier Mansion on the second Saturday of the month at 4 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors over 60 and $5 for children. The tours, which are limited to 15 people, include the basement, cupola, East wing and information not included on the standard tour. Reservations are required.
