Versailles Pumpkin Show: Will be held from Sept. 25-29 around the Ripley County Courthouse square in Versailles. The annual parade will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. For more information visit www.ripleycountytourism.com/pumpkin or call (888) 747-5394.
Friends of the Library Book Sale: Will be held Sept. 26-29 in the Jefferson County Public Library Madison Branch auditorium, 420 W. Main St. The public sale will be open Friday from 2 to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
The Stripping Room: The Historic Hoosier Theatre in Vevay will present "The Stripping Room" at 7 p.m. Sept. 27-28. Tickets are $5. An encore performance will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 4. Tickets are $10 for that performance. For more information call (812) 427-3237.

Bob - The Painter in the Window: Madison artist Bob Saueressig will be painting in the window of Village Lights Bookstore Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 29, from noon to 5 p.m.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion, 707 Jefferson Street, featuring the music of the Canyon River Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.
Fourth Friday: Musicians will perform, local businesses will offer extended hours, art will be on display and the Madison Trolley will give free rides from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Madison.

Art Opening Reception: "Here and There: Summer of 2013," by Bob Saueressig, with new paintings of Indiana and New Mexico, will be on display in the Twain Room of Village Lights Bookstore through Nov. 19. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 9 p.m.
Shop With a Cop Trail Ride: Will start at 10 a.m. The ride is hosted by the Carrollton Police, Carroll County Sheriff and Carroll County Jailer. Entry is a donation of $15 per adult; $5 for each child under age 12. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. along with a prize raffle. Fish Fry: Fairply Fire Company 1 will host its semi-annual fish fry from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 405 E. Main St.
Regional Author Fair: Will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Village Lights Bookstore with a round robin of readings and book signings on booth floors of the store. The fair will feature Richard Berry, D.C. Garriott, Kenn Grimes, Devon Kondaki, Mark McLane, Bonnie J. Poore and June Bear Ritchie.

Senior Dance: Will be held at the Lide White Memorial Boys and Girls Club/Family and Community Center featuring the music of the SideKicks.
