Trent Persinger of Madison graduated May 12, 2013 with distinction from the Indiana University Purdue University School of Informatics. Persinger is the son of Carol Persinger, and Rick and Kathy Persinger, all of Madison. He is a 2008 graduate of Southwestern High School.
Amanda J. Durand of Milton, Ky. was named a president's scholar at Western Kentucky University for the spring semester of the 2012-2013 school year. Students must earn a grade point average of 3.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for the honor. Durand graduated from WKU on May 11, 2013 with a bachelor of arts degree in social studies. She is the daughter of Lisa and Jerry Fryman, and Kenny and Jennifer Durand.
Bennett Nafe graduated magna cum laude May 18, 2013, from Colorado State University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a real estate concentration. He was a business administration honor scholar. His thesis title was, "Real Estate Investment Finance and Market Analysis." Bennett will continue his education at Colorado State where he is pursuing a Master of Science in Construction Management.
Nafe lived in Madison from March 2000 through June 2005 and attended Pope John Elementary and Madison Junior High School. He was a 2010 graduate of Castle View High School in Castle Rock, Colo. He is the son of Robynn Wolfschlag and husband William of Castle Rock, Colo. and Scott Nafe of Winston Salem, N.C. He is the grandson of Donald and Mildred Pruett of Hanover.
Brian Hunt of Madison has been named to the dean's list at Ohio Christian University for the spring semester of the 2012-2013 school year. To be eligible for the list, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours. Hunt is a Christian ministries major.
