Southwestern Elementary School students Autumn Gross, top left, and Raven Goff will both have their artwork displayed in the Indiana State Museum in April.
Autumn, a second-grader, and Raven, a fifth-grader, both submitted artwork in to the 62 Annual Symphony in Color, an enrichment program run by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Association. Gross received an honorable mention and Goff was a finalist.
Students who participated studied music chosen by the symphony, and listened to it in music class before creating artwork based on one of the musical selections.
This year, 452 entries were submitted from 74 different schools across the state.
The winning pieces will be exhibited at the Indiana State Museum from April 8 to May 5.
