Prince of Peace Schools held the annual Grandparents Day Friday.

The event began with mass in the Hilary Meny Gymnasium. The school estimated that more than 1,000 people were in attendance for the mass. Following mass, grandparents were invited to visit their grandchildren's classrooms.

"This is one of the best days of the year for our schools to play host to so many grandparents, parents and loyal supporters of our schools. The gym was packed and then the families overflowed into the cafeteria, lounge and classrooms to meet the students and visit with the teachers," said president Phil Kahn via a press release. "We could not of been more excited to see so many smiling faces in our school."
