The South Central Indiana Regional Science Fair was held on Saturday in Bloomington. Southwestern Middle School had two students participate, and both received two awards. Emma Long received second place in chemistry. She also received the Air Force Award for Excellence in Science. Carter Harmon placed second in materials science. His project was also judged as one of the top middle school projects at the regional science fair. Harmon will now compete at the state science fair on April 1 at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.
