Shawe sent four teams to Academic Super Bowl

Shawe Memorial High School sent four teams to the senior Academic Super Bowl Invitational Monday, all of which placed.
The academic competition was hosted by Batesville High School, and 12 area schools competed.
The Fine Arts Team placed third with members Abby McInteer, Allison Mruzek, McKay Burdette, Paulette Koronkevich and Mary Strange.
The Science Team, made up of members Laura Hesse, Spencer Torline, Paul Koronkevich and Rebekah Israel, also came in third place after a three way tie for first.
The Interdisciplinary Team placed second. On the team was Laura Hesse, JaLynn Copeland, Sarah Sanders and Sophie Edens.
The English Team placed first overall, with members Liz Stucker, JaLynn Copeland, Hannah Storm and Myles Hesse.
The theme for the competition was "The Glory That Was Greece."
Shawe will also compete in the Jac-Cen-Del Invitational on Monday, and an area contest at Austin High School on Tuesday, April 16.
Academic Super Bowl coach, Angela Miller, said she also hopes the team will qualify for the state finals at Purdue University on May 4.
