Shawe Memorial put together four strong games and picked up its first volleyball win of the season, 3-1 over Crothersville on Friday.

The Hilltoppers won the opening game 25-20 but lost game two by the same score. Shawe won game three, also by a 25-20 score, before wrapping up the win with a 25-21 game four victory.

"The girls played hard and really wanted this victory. We are very proud of the way the girls played tonight," Shawe coach Kelly Hill said. "We have really struggled with consistency this season but tonight we were just really on. For the first time this season we played as a team for four games. We got behind a couple times but were able to pull it out which shows how much we have improved."
