MUNCIE - Former Madison baseball and basketball standout Bryan Bullington will be inducted into the Ball State University Athletic Hall of Fame the school has announced.
Bullington, who left the school after his junior season in 2002, holds nearly every career and season pitching record for the Cardinals. He also holds several Mid-American Conference records and was the MAC Pitcher of the Year twice and Player of the Year once.
In 2002, Bullington was the top overall draft pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He has appeared in the majors with the Pirates, Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals and spent this past season pitching in Japan for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp.
Bullington will be joined at the induction ceremony by standout basketball player Bonzi Wells. Wells graduated in 1998 as the all-time leading scorer in both Ball State and MAC history with 2,485 points.
The other inductees are Amy Doyle (softball), Laura Szcepanski Scudder (gymnastics) and the 1949 football team (the only undefeated football team in school history).
The induction will be Feb. 3-4.
