Carroll edges Trimble 3-2

Trimble County's girls tennis team was forced to forfeit a costly No. 3 singles match and Carroll County won two of the four contested matches in a 3-2 win over the Lady Raiders on Friday in Bedford.
The Raiders, who have been short-handed lately, forfeited the three singles to Carroll's Ashley Davidson. Carroll then completed the singles sweep when Sara McArter defeated Trimble's Kim Abbett 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Emilee Walker edged Trimble's Destiny Harp 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles to seal the match win.
Trimble took both of the doubles matches as Micah Hess and Alex Lawhorn defeated Carroll's Jessi Desman and Taylor Courtney and Diane Peyton and Whitney Wingham beat Carroll'sAshley Spenneberg and Kendall Couley (no scores available).
The Raiders' Diane Peyton defeated Ashley Davidson 6-1, 6-0 in a exhibition.
