- Madison's junior varsity boys basketball team defeated Jennings County 38-32 on Friday.

Sophomore forward Kyle Tucker led all scorers with 15 points. He had two 3-pointers which were the only ones the team hit all night. Teammate Kevin Stewart added 12 points in the win.

Madison, now 2-0, travels to Providence tonight.



- Madison's eighth-grade girls basketball team defeated Columbus Northside 36-35 on Thursday.

Sage Sproles had 16 points for Madison while Hope Storey, Jalezza Elliott and Bailey Smith had six each.

The Bears, now 2-0, host Jennings County Thursday.



- Southwestern's boys junior varsity boys basketball team defeated Shawe 55-43 at home on Friday.

Tristan Embs scored 14 points, Josiah Lawson had 11 and Gage Hartman scored 10 for Southwestern. Kaelin Jines had 16 points to lead Shawe and Grayson Rhoten scored 10.

Southwestern, now 1-2, travels to New Washington on Friday. Shawe, 1-1, hosts Indianapolis Scecina today.



- The Madison Junior High softball program will have a meeting on Dec. 4 in the high school gym at 6 p.m.

The meeting is for anyone in the seventh or eighth grade interested in playing softball in the spring. Coach Tony Ralston is asking for both parents and students to be present at the meeting so that he can introduce what they have planned.
