- Madison Junior High's wrestling team opened the 2013 season with a 57-53 win over Seymour on Tuesday.
Picking up wins for the Bears were: Camden Spears, Daunte O'Banion, Dalton Sizemore, Dalton Leveck, Dalton Rowlett, Cody Williams, Jacob Nichols, Brendan Shook, Corbin Hughes, Eli Kent, Marcus Schoonover and Tay Wells.
- Madison's freshman boys basketball team picked up its second win of the week with a 58-22 win over Clarksville on Wednesday.
Chad Ison, Carson Compton, and Reece Dryden all scored in double figures for the Cubs. Ison was the offensive player of the game, Dryden was the defensive player of the game and Trey Holt won the sixth man award.
- Southwestern's eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Jac-Cen-Del 43-11 Tuesday night in Osgood.
The Rebels, now 3-1, were led by Maliah Howard with 20 points while Kelsi Brierly scored 17.
Southwestern hosts New Washington tonight with the seventh grade game at 6 p.m. and the eight grade game to follow.
- The 2013 Knights of Columbus free throw shooting contest will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Shawe Memorial High School.
The event is open to boys and girls ages 10-14. For more info, call Pat Berry at 273-6607.
