CANTON, N.Y. - Former Southwestern volleyball standout Camille (Cline) Crim and her Florida College Falcons are just two wins from winning a United States Christian Athletic Association national championship at SUNY-Canton.
Crim, a 2011 graduate of Southwestern who is now a junior at Florida College, has helped the top-ranked Falcons advance to today's tournament semifinals against Marygrove College.
After going 2-0 in pool play on Thursday, Florida went 3-0 on Friday to remain unbeaten in the tournament with all five wins in straight sets.
On Friday, the Falcons defeated Lindenwood 25-14, 25-16 and SUNY-Canton 25-19, 25-20 to complete pool play and then dispatched Cincinnati Clermont 25-11, 25-13, 25-21 in the quarterfinals.
Cline had five kills against Lindenwood, six kills against SUNY-Canton and 11 kills against Cincinnati Clermont.
The Falcons (31-10) are one of just two teams left in the tournament that are undefeated. Daemon (N.Y.) College (18-9) is also 5-0 and will play Rochester in today's second semifinal with the championship set for 4 p.m. today.
The Falcons, the national champions in 2011 and runners-up in 2012, are going for their ninth national championship.
