Madison boys tennis clinched a spot in the sectional championship match on Thursday, defeating Southwestern 5-0 in the semifinals at Jennings County.

"The team played extremely well and remained focused and tough throughout their matches," Madison coach Beth McIlvain said. "The boys are honored and excited to be in the sectional finals this weekend."

Match results: Singles - No. 1 Kyle Sauley (M) d. Greggory Cline (SW) 6-1, 6-1; No. 2 Sam McIlvain (M) d. Camden Bentley (SW) 6-1, 6-0; No. 3 Cole Callahan (M) d. Jarod Perry (SW) 6-0, 6-0; Doubles - Clark Vaughn, Noah Stookey (M) d. Michael Perry, Brynen Chitwood 6-0, 6-3; No. 2 Austin Brady, Ceaton Bowman (M) d. Christian Hayes, Bryce Scroggins (SW) 6-4, 6-1.

Madison plays in the sectional championship on Saturday at 10 a.m. against the winner of Jennings County and Greensburg.
