Austin High School honored former basketball star Tom Chilton during a ceremony before last Saturday's game at home against Madison, the school he taught at for over 30 years. Members of Austin's current boys varsity basketball team applaud Chilton (top) as he walks off the floor. Austin athletic director Mike Deaton presents Chilton with his retired No. 12 jersey (bottom). Chilton, currently 19th on Austin's scoring list, had an outstanding collegiate career at East Tennessee State and ended up being drafted by the NBA. He was voted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame two weeks ago and Deaton said the school scrambled to make the ceremony possible in time for the Madison game, the first time the Cubs have played in Austin since 1937.
