Gallatin County spoiled homecoming Friday night in Carrollton by sweeping a girls-boys varsity doubleheader from Carroll County in blowout fashion.

In the boys matchup, Carroll County fell to 0-5 in 31st District play and 0-2 in the conference with a 63-48 setback.

The Panthers, who have lost four-straight, led 12-7 after the first quarter but that lead dwindled to 26-25 at halftime. Gallatin County then took control in the third quarter, outscoring Carroll 20-11 in the period and 18-11 in the fourth quartr to win the contest going away.

Carroll County hit only 18-of-48 (38 percent) from the floor, including 1-of-10 from behind the arc. Isaiah Hogan led the Panthers with 13 points, Jacob Wise scored 12 and Dakota Corbin had 10.

Kaleb Beckham had 23 points to lead Gallatin County, which shot 47 percent (21-of-45) from the floor. Joe Sargent added 10.

Carroll County, now 6-8 overall, hosts Evangel Christian on Monday.

Carroll County put three players in double figures in the girls game, but that wasn't nearly enough against a good Gallatin County squad in a 68-33 Lady Panthers setback.

That's because while the Lady Panthers saw Lauren Moore, Kayla Williamson and Miranda Groseclose score 10 points each, Gallatin County was getting a game-high 23 points from Brooke Dossett and 17 from Danielle Wesley.

Combine that with a dozen points by Autumn Bowen and nine more by Hannah Dossett and Gallatin had enough offensive firepower to run away with the win.

Gallatin led 19-12 after a quarter, 40-19 at halftime and 58-29 at the end of the third period to overpower Carroll by 35 points and improve to 2-0 in the North Central Kentucky Conference.

Gallatin is now 9-5 overall while Carroll drops to 3-10 overall and 1-1 in the NCKC.

The Panthers host Williamstown Wednesday in the opening round of the All "A" Classic Eighth Region Tournament at Carrollton.
