Jordan Griffith earned medalist honors and led Madison boys golf to a first place finish at the Shawe Invitational on Saturday at Sunrise Golf Course.

Madison fielded two teams in the invitational. Madison's top team consisting of Griffith, Carson Cheatham, Dylan Bilz, Connor Kiefer and Carson Wattenbarger won with an overall score of 305.

Team two consisting of Matt Norris, Blake Kiefer, Austin Mahoney, Elias Ruiz and Mitchell Seng shot a 335 to place second.

Jennings County came in third place with a 350, three strokes ahead of fourth place Southwestern. Scottsburg was fifth at 353 while South Decatur came in sixth with a 370 - one stroke ahead of seventh place Henryville.

Shawe did not have enough players to qualify for a team score.

Griffith took home the individual title with an 18-hole, one-under-71. Other Madison team one scores were: Connor Kiefer, 77; Wattenbarger, 78; Bilz, 79; and Cheatham, 81.

Mahoney led Madison's second team with a 78 with Ruiz a stroke back at 79. Seng (88), Blake Kiefer (90) and Norris (93) closed out Madison's results.

Southwestern was led by Ashton Hill's 81. Michael Perry carded an 86 and Brynen Chitwood and Zach Kelly shot a 92 and 93, respectively. Austin Mikesell fired a non-scoring 130.

Collin Hambrick closed out the day with a 111 to lead Shawe's three golfers. Joel Carillo shot a 128 and Daniel Carillo carded a 130.

Jennings County's 350 was led by Jake Simmons with an 80 followed by Ian Donnell 83, Bailey Wilder 91, Garrett Day 96 and Lane Sawyer 98.

Scottsburg's 353 included an 81 by Luke Taylor followed by Kameron Hollan 88, Christian Burtch 90, Ryan Everett 94 and Jordan Schuler 99.

South Decatur's 370 included a 90 by Nick Schwering followed by Cory Hastings 92, Brayden Helms 93, Seth Niese 95 and Jacob Johnson 109.

Henryville's 371 included an 83 by Luke Davidson followed by Mason Edwards 92, Charlie Lefebvre 94 and Bailey Reister 102.

Madison competes in the Bedford North Lawrence Invitational at Otis Park Golf Course on Saturday.

Southwestern competes at The Links in Rising Sun on Wednesday in a three-way match with Switzerland County and Rising Sun.

Shawe visits The Links on Monday, May 5 in a three-way match with Rising Sun and Oldenburg.
