Madison's Jordan Griffith carded a one-over 73 to take medalist honors at the Floyd Central Invitational at Valley View Golf Course on Saturday.

Griffi th was followed by Carson Wattenbarger, who shot a 79 to place 10th overall, and Carson Cheatham and Dylan Bilz who each had 83s. Mitchell Seng and Chase Garrett had non-scoring 87s.

As a team, Madison finished fourth with a 326 that was just seven strokes off 11th-ranked Bedford North Lawrence's 319 for top team honors. No. 9 Floyd Central shot a 320 and Evansville North had a 323. Seymour and Bloomington sound both carded 330s with the Owls claiming fifth on a fifth-man, tie-breaker.

Southwestern also competed in the event and shot a 412 that left the Rebels in 15th place. Michael Perry led the way with a 97, Brynen Chitwood had a 103, Stuart Bramer had a 104, and Ashton Hill had a 108.

Other team scores were: Center Grove 333, Corydon Central 336, Columbus East 339, New Albany 350, Salem 350, North Harrison 367, Scottsburg 369, Jeffersonville 375 and Borden 416.

Madison competes at Seymour today while Southwestern hosts Milan and South Ripley at Spring Hills on Tuesday.
