Griffith's 34 leads Cubs to home win

Jordan Griffith earned medalist honors as Madison cruised past Switzerland County and Jac-Cen-Del in a three-way boys golf match on Monday at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison.
The Cubs carded a four-man, nine-hole round of 145, 32 strokes better than second place Jac-Cen-Del. Switzerland County placed third with a 203.
Griffith fired a nine-hole two-under-34 to take medaliast honors in the match. Teammate Mitchell Seng was two strokes back at even-par-36.
Connor Kiefer shot a 37 and Carson Wattenbarger finished the round with a 37 to round out Madison's scoring. Dylan Bilz carded a non-scoring 39.
In other non-scoring rounds, Austin Mahoney also shot 39 while Luke Johann and Carson Cheatham shot a 40 and 42, respectively. Noah Kahn-Stookey shot a 44 and Elias Ruiz rounded out the team with a 45.
Switzerland County's Dustin Tice carded the Pacers' best round with a 47.
Madison competes in the Batesville Invitational on Saturday at Hillcrest Country Club.
Switzerland County plays a tri-match today with Southwestern and South Ripley at Spring Hills Golf Course in Hanover.
