Hanover's lacrosse squad lost a Midwest Lacrosse Conference match at Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) 12-3 Wednesday in Delhi, Ohio.

Nick Hermes scored two goals and an assist to lead Hanover, which slipped to 4-10 overall and 3-6 in the MLC.

Mount St. Joseph (9-7, 6-3 MLC) led just 4-2 at halftime, but outscored the Panthers 8-1 in the second half to pull away for the league victory.

Luke Karnick scored 64 seconds into the match to give Hanover an early advantage. The squads were then scoreless for the following 10 minutes before the Lions netted the equalizer.

Hermes, who fired just three shots in the contest, scored his first goal to tie the match 2-2 early in the second period. He added an unassisted goal, his team-leading 31st of the season, midway through the fourth quarter.

Hanover earned 10-of-18 face-offs, but trailed the Lions 38-25 in shots, 18-17 in ground balls and committed 18 turnovers.

Tim Gruber won 8-of-14 face-offs and led the Panthers with six ground balls. Goalie Addison Sears had five saves.

Hanover visits Alma (Mich) on Friday before closing the season at conference foe Benedictine (Ill.) on Saturday.
