Hanover baseball picked 5th

Manchester has been selected as the favorite to claim the 2013 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball championship and Hanover has been voted fifth.
The Spartans received 94 total points and seven first place votes in the annual HCAC Preseason coaches' poll. Hanover received 55.
Franklin received the second most votes in the poll and finished with 85 total points and one first place vote. Rose-Hulman was third with 76 points and one first place vote and was followed by Anderson (75 points and one first-place vote), Hanover, Transylvania (54), Bluffton (39), Earlham (30), Mount St. Joseph (22), and Defiance (20).
Hanover outfielders Cam Ginder and Kevin Sears, pitchers Mitch Hunnicut and Chip Hockenbury, and shortstop Ryan Johns have been named players to watch.
