Henryville jumped out to a 16-1 lead after the first quarter and 29-5 at halftime en route to a 39-14 win over Shawe Memorial in girls basketball Tuesday in Henryville.

Shawe hit just four shots from the floor and shot 13 percent overall while not making a 3-pointer. Henryville was 35 percent (16-for-46) overall.

"We continue to struggle on offense. It has been our Achilles' heel all season," Shawe coach Camille Deuser said. "I feel like a broken record because it's always the same: defense looks great, offense needs work. We are running out of time; we either fix it now or our season will be over soon. If we could really work on our offense, we have the potential to be a sectional contender."

Taylor Grote led Shawe with six points. Emily Hollis led Henryville with 13 points.

Shawe, now 4-15 on the season, visits Switzerland County on Friday for its final regular season game.
