Jac-Cen-Del used a big second quarter to forge a 31-10 halftime lead over Shawe Memorial and cruised to a 69-34 conference win over the Hilltoppers Friday night in Osgood.

Shawe trailed 13-8 after a quarter, but the Eagles outscored the Hilltoppers 15-2 in the second period. Jac-Cen-Del backed that up with a 22-12 third quarter en route to the win.

"We had problems all night with their size and pressure," Shawe coach Matt Traylor said of the Eagles. "To begin the game we handled the ball well and were active enough defensively to limit some of their size advantage. During the second quarter we got great looks early that we didn't make and then started getting beat in transition compounding our issues.

"I thought we played hard, but don't always compete very well," Traylor added. "If we did something right once, we struggle to do it right the second and third time and we pay for it."

Brad Koehler scored a game-high 20 points for Shawe but no other Hilltopper tallied more than five. Grayson Rhoten scored five points to go with three rebounds and two steals. Sid Thevenow added four points, Chris Grote had three and Patrick Bear scored two. Koehler also added four rebounds and two steals and Thevenow had two rebounds and two assists.

Jac-Cen-Del (5-5, 2-0 Ohio River Valley) was led by Allen Bolton's 15 points. Adam Siebert and Evan Borgman added 14 points each.

Shawe, now 1-12, 1-2 ORVC) will host Trinity Lutheran tonight. The school will host it's postponed homecoming dance after the game.
