After battling to only one win in each of the last three seasons, Trimble County fell short of even that in 2013, dropping its football season finale 37-6 at Kentucky Country Day on Friday to go winless on the season.
Trimble fell behind 13-0 after a quarter, 23-0 at halftime and 37-0 after three quarters before breaking up the shutout on a 15-yard keeper by quarterback Tevin Taylor with 2:04 left in the game.
Meanwhile, the Bearcats (5-5) saw four different players score with three touchdowns on the ground and two by air to go with a 34-yard field goal by Mark Holtgrave just after halftime.
Zac Etoch scored on a 6-yard TD run to open the scoring for KCD with 5:08 left in the first quarter and quarterback Blake Phillips connected with Jackson Alford for the first of his two touchdown passes with 1:58 left in the period.
Alford's 67-yard catch and run proved to be the game-winner. He tacked on a 16-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter and running back Evan Mauck scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter and a 25-yard sweep down the right sideline with 5:48 left in the third period to wrap up the Bearcats' scoring.
In addition to the 34-yard field goal, Holtgrave was a perfect 4-of-4 on extra points although the Raiders did stop Country Day's kicking unit on a fake point after following the first score of the night.
Trimble County turned the ball over twice on pass interceptions by Jake Dickens and Etoch but the Raiders had one takeaway of their own when Easton Stombaugh recovered a Country Day fumble on the Bearcats' 42-yard-line late in the second quarter.
Country Day advances to the Class A District playoffs visiting Russellville (8-2) on Friday.
Trimble, outscored 358-70 on the season, missed the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season. The last time Trimble played in the postseason was when the Raiders were 3-8 in 2009 and lost 54-0 to Beechwood in the first round. Trimble is 3-37 in the four seasons since.
