Lady Pacers fall in consolation game
Saturday, January 05, 2013 3:57 AM
Switzerland County's girls battled Lawrenceburg down to the end before coming up short, 42-40 in the consolation game of the Rivertown Classic on Friday in Aurora.
Freshman Brooke Todd led the Pacers with 15 points while sophomore Eve Galbreath scored 10.
"Overall I was proud of our effort," Switzerland coach Ashley Chase said. "We got down early in the first half because of turnovers. However, as the game went along I thought our confidence helped us with their full-court press and helped us get back into the game. We have some time to get in the gym and work on these details."
Hailee Lay added six points, Kelsi Konkle had four and Bre Ricketts three for the Pacers.
Switzerland County, now 6-8 on the season, has a week off before the Lady Pacers travel to Class A No. 12 New Washington on Saturday, Jan. 12.
