Madison’s golf team shot a 156 and picked up a win over Floyd Central and New Albany in a tri-meet at Valley View Golf Course on Monday.

Austin Mahoney led the Cubs with a medalist round of 37t. Landon Conner had a 38, Case Kiefer a 40 and Blake Kiefer a 41. Dalton Sizemore had a 44 and Trent Jameison a 45 in non-scoring rounds.

Floyd was second at 160 and New Albany third with a 166.

“I was pleased with their scores today. A few of them started out a little rough, but were able to recover nicely and put those holes behind them,” Madison coach Dale Crafton said. “I am very happy for Austin. He played his golf game and won a tight one for medalist. Drew Barron is taking a few days off due to some back issues, but came to the match to support the team. Dalton and Trent stepped in and played two respectable rounds. The team continues to improve, continues to focus and their short game is getting better. All in all a good outing.”

Madison’s next match was supposed to be the Shawe Invitational on Saturday but that event has been canceled. The Cubs will now Henryville and Crothersville at Champions Pointe Golf Course on Thursday.
