Madison's boys tennis team was shut out by New Albany Wednesday in the second round of the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament.

The Cubs best battle of the 5-0 loss came in the No. 3 singles where Cole Callahan picked up eight games in a 6-4, 6-4 loss. The Cubs won 20 games overall while falling in straight sets.

Results were: Singles - No. 1 Logan Charbonneau (NA) def. Kyle Sauley (M) 6-2, 6-3; No. 2 Alec Bates (NA) def. Sam McIlvain (M) 6-1, 6-1; and No. 3 Nathan Johnson (NA) def. Cole Callahan (M) 6-4, 6-4; Doubles - No. 1 Tanner Goller, Jake Kennard (NA) def. Clark Vaughn, Noah Stookey (M) 6-1, 6-2; and No. 2 Nick White, Zach Daniel (NA) def. Austin Brady, Ceaton Bowman (M) 6-1, 6-1.

Madison now plays a seventh-place consolation round matchup on Friday against an opponent to be decided.
