No. 9 Lady Cubs off to 6-0 start after beating Jeffersonville 63-56 on road

Olivia Crozier led four players in double figures and Madison beat Jeffersonville 63-56 in girls Hoosier Hills Conference basketball Friday on the road.
Crozier, a 6-foot-1 sophomore, had 14 points and 15 rebounds as the Class 3A No. 9 Lady Cubs remained unbeaten on the season. Cadie Povaleri scored a career-high 12 points, Macky Hecox had 11 and Hannah Cain scored 10 points, had seven assists and six steals.
Madison (6-0, 2-0 Hoosier Hills) was in control much of the game. After taking a 15-7 lead after one quarter, the Cubs led 32-21 at the half and 44-30 after three quarters. Jeffersonville made a strong run in the fourth but it came up short.
The Cubs were 32-for-45 from the free-throw line compared to 13-for-21 for Jeffersonville. Crozier was 8-for-9 from the stripe while Povaleri was 8-for-12.
Haley Vogen led the Red Devils with 15 points. Aurreeshae Hines had 14.
At 6-0, Madison is off to its best start in 15 years. The Lady Cubs opened the 1996-97 season with eight-straight wins.
Madison travels to Class A No. 11 New Washington on Tuesday.
