Switzerland County held off Oldenburg Academy for a 46-38 win in boys basketball on the road in the Pacers' season opener on Tuesday.

Points were hard to come by for both teams. Switzerland trailed 10-7 after the first quarter but regrouped to lead 22-16 at halftime. The Pacers led 31-29 after three quarters before pulling away in the fourth to close out the road win.

Chase Ritch knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 14 points off the bench to lead Switzerland County. Alex Curran had 12, Austin Clark scored seven, Braden Burk had six, Trevor Smith had five and T.J. White added two.

Starting guard Corey Reynolds led Oldenburg with a dozen points, starting center Peter Lamping scored eight and starting forward Ted Geis added six. Matt Hurn and Josh Stenger, both starters, scored four points each for the Twisters and Nick Bischoff and John Drew came off the bench for two points each.

Switzerland, now 1-0, hosts Southwestern on Saturday.
